Charlie's latest project, a 1953 Studebaker 1/2 ton truck
A little rough around the edges, but with good bones and equipment.  Subframed with Nova
suspension, both front and rear. Started out as a Stude 2R6 model.
Some bodywork is ahead of course, door panels, rocker panels , bed work as well as front and rear
bumpers and .......paint ?  Who knows ?
On a positive note, how about those 1989 Caddy tail lights !
Yet another positive, a highly sought after '59 Impala dashboard and gauges !
Last but not least, the running gear.  An L98 Chevy 350 cu. in. engine complete with Tuned
Port Fuel Injection system is teamed up with a nice little Chevy 700R4 automatic 4 speed
tranny, Lokar shifter and 10 bolt Chevy rear gears.
OK, I decided to upgrade my dash instrumentation with a custom Speedhut Legacy set of gauges.  This also
necessitated a major rewire of about all wiring with the exception of the computer controlled fuel injection
wires. To view in order, follow the pix downward on left column and back to the top on right column.
The result of all this wiring and gauge changing can be seen here in a sequence from beginning Dec 1, 2016
until Mar 1, 2017.  I love those Speedhut gauges, second vehicle that I have used them with. Made in USA and
the support is awesome. They are very customizable too. Note the GPS controlled speedometer. At night time
the gauge faces change from white to pale blue, with glowing red needles. Mil-Spec accuracy with their sensors.
A fuel pump failure and an already existent hole cut in the bed, for fuel fill access,
prompted a modification of the bed area. See the pictures, there is an added
storage box for traveling and a spare tire storage space is in the plans. Hopefully
this will be done in March.........Madness slows me down !!!
Here's a shot of the GPS
controlled Speedhut
speedometer and
Tachometer combo meter.
White face during daylight
and baby blue glow with
red needle glow at night- cool is
that?.....aside from the
accuracy!   Made in the
USA....Salt Lake City, Utah.
